GovTrack.us is an independent platform that makes US Congress data freely accessible. Founded in 2004, it provides comprehensive tracking of federal legislation including bill text, voting records, committee activity, and member profiles. The platform scrapes and structures data from official sources including Congress.gov and the Government Publishing Office. All data is available under a Creative Commons BY-SA license, with a documented API for programmatic access.

Data and API

The GovTrack API provides access to bills, members, votes, committee assignments, and legislative subject terms.
