The Legal Information Institute (LII) at Cornell Law School pioneered free online access to US law. Founded in 1992, it publishes the US Code, Supreme Court opinions, the Code of Federal Regulations, Uniform Commercial Code, and the Wex legal encyclopedia. All materials are freely accessible without registration. The LII also provides educational resources, statutory annotations, and legal citation guides.
